Fatima Mirza, Head of HR – MEA & HR Business Partner EMEA climbs Mt. Everest Base Camp
60 hours of intense workouts, and 56 hours of trekking up the world’s largest mountain, Fatima Mirza Head of HR MEA and HR Business Partner EMEA summits Mt. Everest base camp at 5,364 metres. It took nine days for her to complete the expedition.
“I did it! This wasn’t my dream, but rather a wish to overcome hurdles and grief that I was struggling within. I did it in memory of my father who always encouraged me to keep going. Trekking up is not easy, but the breathtaking view from up there gave me a sense of accomplishment that I did it. I did it for mental health awareness, pushing my physical boundaries and healing.” Fatima said.
Speaking of overcoming hurdles, Fatima added that her intention is to encourage everyone to ‘keep climbing’. “Regardless the challenges you are faced with, conquer your fears, hike up on opportunities, and look down on obstacles”.
