Dubai, UAE. Evonik Industries appointed Joerg Syrzisko as the new Head of Middle East & Africa. Joerg Syrzisko succeeds Dr. Hendrik Schoenfelder, who has taken the position of Regional President for Evonik in Central and South America.
Prior to joining Evonik in 2017, Joerg Syrzisko has held several international management positions in the health care and chemical industries since 1989. Bringing over 30 years of experience to his new role, he will drive Evonik's Middle East & Africa activities forward with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
Evonik opened its first offices in Egypt more than five decades ago, marking the start of the company's presence in the Middle East and Africa (MEA).
As a cluster with over 150 employees covering the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Egypt, Jordan, South Africa, Ghana, and Kenya, Evonik MEA offers a diverse portfolio of products that support mega growth trends in these countries.
With a hydrogen peroxide plant in South Africa and a superabsorbents manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia, Evonik also has animal nutrition activities in South Africa and Kenya, as well as silica activities which is also in South Africa.
